BLACK ON BLACK CAUSE BLACK is always in style

Don’t know what to wear? Wear black. I am not much into fashion, but I appreciate fashion and wish I was more fashionable, but until then, which is probably never, I will just put on a black shirt, when in doubt of what to wear.

Got guests, and don’t know what to cook?

Follow the same rules of black rules….. now black “forbidden” rice peaked in popularity oh when, I don’t know, early 2012 maybe. So that is not soooo cool anymore.

Mixing your black rice with black lentils, much cooler, and the fashion mavens we are….that is what we will do.

serves 4

Ingredients

1 cup black rice, cooked per package instructions in broth (vegetable or chicken)

1 cup black lentils, cooked per package instructions, in broth (vegetable or chicken), until al dente

1/3 cup black sesame seeds

soy dressing.

1/2 cup seasoned rice vinegar

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 small jalopeno pepper sliced thin

2 tablespoons, cilantro or parsley chopped rough

Don’t over cook your lentils, we don’t want them to turn into mush. If you accidentlly cook them too long, turn them into lentil soup instead, and make this another day. When in doubt, take them out…of the pot that is. Under cook rather than over cook the lentils. Combine, rice, lentils and sesame seeds. In a small bowl combine the soy dressing ingredients and pour over the rice and lentil mix.
